The University of Miami men’s basketball team will open its 2019-20 regular-season schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 5, against Louisville at home at the Watsco Center, as announced Friday by the ACC and ESPN. The conference matchup will be televised by the ACC Network, which launches in August. The game time will be announced at a later date.

This marks the first time in program history the Canes will begin their season with a conference game. The Nov. 5 opener also marks the earliest season opener in program history.

In a press conference today at the 2019 New York Life ACC Tournament, ESPN announced four games will be broadcast on the ACC Network, the new 24/7 national platform that will launch on Aug. 22, 2019. The exclusive early-season basketball broadcasts include: Louisville at Miami and Georgia Tech at NC State (Nov. 5); and Notre Dame at North Carolina and Virginia at Syracuse (Nov. 6).

Three additional conference games will be aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU including Virginia Tech at Clemson (Nov. 5), Wake Forest at Boston College (Nov. 6), and Florida State at Pitt (Nov. 6). As was previously released by ESPN, Duke is set to compete in the State Farm Champions Classic (Nov. 5), which will be aired on ESPN.

The rest of Miami’s schedule and ticket information will be announced in the next few months.

Owned and operated by ESPN in partnership with the Atlantic Coast Conference, ACC Network (ACCN) is a new 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports set to launch August 22, 2019. Approximately 450 live contests including 40 regular-season football games, 150 men's and women's basketball games, and 200 other regular-season competitions and tournament games from across the conference's 27 sponsored sports will be televised annually, plus a complement of news and information shows and original programming. Together, the ACCN and its digital platform, ACC Network Extra (ACCNE), will feature 1,300 ACC events in its first year. ESPN has been televising ACC content since 1979 and has exclusive rights to every conference-controlled game across sports and championships.
