According to reports, FSU will take legal action against the conference to challenge the grant of rights and $130 million withdrawal fee. Reports indicate that it would cost the program $572 million to get out of the ACC



“Florida State’s decision to file action against the Conference is in direct conflict with their longstanding obligations and is a clear violation of their legal commitments to the other members of the Conference. All ACC members, including Florida State, willingly and knowingly re-signed the current Grant of Rights in 2016, which is wholly enforceable and binding through 2036. Each university has benefited from this agreement, receiving millions of dollars in revenue and neither Florida State nor any other institution, has ever challenged its legitimacy.



“As a league, we are proud of the successes of our student-athletes and that the ACC has won the most NCAA National Championships over the past two and half years while also achieving the highest graduation success and academic performance rates among all FBS conferences, so it is especially disappointing that FSU would choose to pursue this unprecedented and overreaching approach.



“We are confident that the Grant of Rights, which has been honored by all other universities who signed similar agreements, will be affirmed by the courts and the Conference’s legal counsel will vigorously enforce the agreement in the best interests of the ACC’s current and incoming members.”

Miami is in a good position to land transfer Zach Carpenter. Miami impressed Carpenter over the weekend, and Miami is in an excellent position to add the veteran center.

The Ohio native has one year of eligibility left. According to PFF, he earned season-blocking grades of 71.2 against the pass and 61 against the run in 2023 with Indiana.

Carpenter may make an announcement as soon as Monday.

Miami is in a position to flip multiple prospects on signing day Wednesday.

Miami hosted several prospects this weekend, which started with a dinner with the recruits, and then the players watched the first practice for the Pinstripe Bowl.

Four prospects to watch going into Wednesday are Armondo Blount, Jordan Lyle, Xavier Lucas, and Adarius Hayes, all committed to other Power Five programs.

Miami needs defensive back help and would love to continue building a pipeline from the local American Heritage High School that recently produced James Williams and Damari Brown. The option to stay home is appealing to Lucas, but there is the option to stay loyal to Wisconsin. According to Lucas the contact has not been consistent throughout his recruiting process, which could be a determining factor.

If Ward chooses Miami he would be playing in an AIr Raid offense that he has been playing in his entire college career.

Defensive Tackle C.J. Clark is officially visiting Miami, according to sources.

The redshirt junior is a graduate transfer who started 23 games in his career with the Wolfpack.

He totaled 73 tackles (20 solo), and four sacks in five years.

The 6'3" 305-pound D-Tackle totaled 22 total tackles and one sack in the 2023 season. He had three tackles and a sack against the Hurricanes this year in a 20-6 win.

He has one year of eligibility left.

Washington is the contender for Miami here, but Hurricanes impressed.
