From National Recruiting Analyst Greg Smith:

Miami is getting a highly productive defensive end/EDGE player in Spanish Fort (Ala.) commit Cole McConathy. The defender racked up 92 tackles with 26.5 TFL, 33 quarterback hurries, 16 sacks, 5 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles this year. Watching him on film, it's easy to see why he was able to have that type of production.

He’s a versatile player who lines up off the ball, on the end with his hand in the dirt, and even at some defensive tackle. McConathy is strong at the point of attack and plays with heavy hands. He extends his arms well and uses his power to keep blockers off him. The Hurricanes’ latest commit also plays with a mean streak you want to see in your defenders.
