If you live in a civilized world there are social expectations that need to be met to educate our children, to keep the hospitals accessible for people that need medical procedures, and to protect those that have pre-existing conditions. You still have to wear seat belts in cars and on planes. Motorcycle helmets are required in most states. Bottom line, states can mandate all kinds of policies to protect their citizens, so masking or vaccines shouldn't be any different.

The shot takes a few seconds, which is much shorter in duration than wearing a seatbelt or helmet.
A vaccine literally prevents you from getting severely sick with COVID. What precisely is your issue with avoiding sickness or death ?

We already punish smokers and drinkers by limiting access. Smokers can’t smoke in bars, restaurants, clubs, and other establishments in many states and drinkers are limited to specific ages and locations. We as a a society routinely place parameters and restrictions on things for the greater good of public safety, so why would this be any different?

For once, I have to agree with CD, to a degree, even though he refuses to explain his Cuomo worship. First, there are just as many unvaccinated lefties as conservatives; any meaningful analysis would reach that conclusion. However, instead of mandating masks which is an idiotic idea, this dopey president should mandate vaccines except where there is a medical reason. I'm a libertarian, but I don't see such a mandate as a violating my rights or freedom but I do see it as the solution to getting our population back to normal.
