I thought this article on Grantland was an insightful look at what really seems to matter in nat'l championship caliber teams over the last 10 years. Some obvious things (elite recruiting, strong DL and secondaries) but some not as obvious (no need for established QB or coach). Also makes you think about how the Canes stack up to this criteria.
