1/08 LAST/FINAL
First off I thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart for your support and prayers
Thankfully a conclusion
Rory’s body was found yesterday. Evidently he got lost sking the back side in a white out!. He tried walking back out in 2 feet of snow. His body was found very far, a long distance away. He was up against a barrier , his skis were laid out in front of him.
He was found 3 miles North West of the resort in a drainage ditch. Incredibly he was .5 miles from a residential neighborhood. He had to have been exhausted, sat down to rest with his hands over his chest trying to keep warm, and never woke up!
May he Rest In Peace!
It’s been a twilight zone mentally for us, since Saturday. However I can’t put into words, how everyone’s support has truly helped me/us. Despite our differences, at the end of the day we are all united, connected, even family, despite it’s simply thru a game. My faith in people has been reborn
I truly dont have the words to express how helpful your comments, thoughts and prayers have been, during this tumultuous week..
While I still have a slimmer of hope, I have accepted “what might/must be”.
I will always remember Rory, for he lived HIS life large. Always had a smile, always lived in the moment. Maybe thats a lesson for us all. Live in the now! Don’t take life for granted!
It’s hard holding back the tears, ,mourning, , however I WILL to remember him smiling. living life large!
Again to all that reached out, know that you helped!
May we all have a HEALTHY, HAPPY year in 2022.

Rory is still missing There are thermal imaging Helicopters out, with a lot of people on the ground looking. Thankfully weather is much better at the moment.. Obviously the situation is dark, but we are still keeping hope.
12;30 pm Cali update
Looking again today but expecting another foot of snow tonight. Had a “tip” of tracks in a remote part of the mtn and after tracking those down, turned out to be a bear. Crazy, I thought they hibernate in winter?
Search goes on……
Trying to stay positive…. Getting harder by the hour, still a search and rescue however!…..

1PM Calitime Got a weather window, Miltary Helicopter and several ski patrols out looking. Heavy snow accumulation makes it very difficult for patrol to ski and cover more ground. However they’re are out trying

6:15 Tuesday
Six feet of snow has fallen since Rory went missing, hampering rescuers, however there is hope with weather breaking and daylight they wil resume search.they will start searching ASAP @ sunlight in about 4/5 hours from now Cali time. Only 10% chance of snow annd clearer visibility
It’s been around 63 hours since missing. Still hoping for good news.STILL a search and RESCUE operation!
11AM update from ski patrol. Thy got 40 inches of snow overnight. Recovery was slowed down as people now need to go in groups of 2. However the storm is starting to lighten up, no snowmobiles as too dangerous, might create an avalanche. They are still calling it a search and rescue and this point.
It’s been 48 hours, very survivable. However every hour now is important They will continue searching til dark. With luck it;ll stop snowing, get more visibility over next critical 24 hours. Knowing Rory he has food, maybe a flask, and other things fora great hour of skiing.
He went out during his lunch hour, as he works at the base of the mountain.
I”m keeping positive til there is a body.

We all think Canes football is important. Then something like this happens and you realize its a bull shit, its a silly game
My son went skiing in the back bowl of Tahoe, he is a superb skier, allegedly went with Avalanche equipment.
He was last seen going up a chair lift on Saturday around noon.
Unfortunately there is a winter storm warning with 15-25 inches of snow
Rescue attempts were halted at dark ,and will resume at first light
Lets all take a step back, think about what is truly important, and say a prayer for Rory Angeltotta

Crews search for skier who disappeared from Truckee ski resort days ago
The sheriff's office identified the skier Monday as 43-year-old Rory Angelotta from Truckee.
