A contrasting approach between Cuomo the Emmy Award winning NY Governor and DeSantis the villain Governor from Florida.
Cuomo widely applauded for his daytime press conferences, his articulation, his strong demeanor, with every channel covering his every word.
DeSantis the Florida Governor bashed for not having a State wide mask mandate, his support of Trump and the Federal Gov't, his short press conferences, his desire to re-open common sense approach
NY got everything they wanted / needed from ventilators to ppe, to the Naval Hospital, to the Jacob Javitz Center Hospital, to field hospitals in Central Park.
Florida didn't ask for as much got what we needed ppe, ventilators, etc........
We now know that Cuomo under reported nursing home deaths ( NY AG report) and ordered covid positive patients back into the nursing homes.
Florida which has the highest population of nursing homes in the country DeSantis put together a comprehensive nursing home plan early on saving thousands of lives. This included a rapid response team should an outbreak occur inside a nursing home or ALF.
The numbers show us just who should be applauded and it ain't Cuomo.

Florida cases = 1,721,377
Florida deaths = 26,479
NY cases = 1.42 million
NY deaths 43,178
How can it be that Florida is largely open with people flying in from all over the world and NY is closed up for business yet Florida numbers are far better? If being locked up were the answer Florida would have FLOWN by NY in cases and deaths a long time ago.

Florida 3.09 million doses received with 1.70 million administered BUT FLORIDA near the top in over 65 years old vaccinations.
