So I am the Board President of a very high end luxury condo in Hollywood for 7 years. We have a cable / internet provider that is family owned and operated 100% pure fiber. This company now has the largest fiber ring in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County and has tons of properties from Brickell to Boca, to Palm Beach. Condominium buildings, HOA's, Country Club residential, you name it. As such most of these types of properties have both Bulk and Retail within the property. For instance my building the Association provides 1 HD box plus 100 down 50 up internet in the bulk. I reached out to the Owner over the weekend about getting the ACC Network. Her response was shocking. To quote; Harry they want a FORTUNE and are being very greedy. If I (her) paid what they want I would have to raise the bulk to every property $5 per unit per month. Further, they insist that the company include it in the Basic Package and she is NOT permitted to offer it in higher tier plans nor as a stand alone charge similar to HBO or Showtime etc......How dumb is the ACC? We wait years for our own network to compete with SEC and no one is going to have it locally. This is exactly why Comcast and others don't have it yet. I am not going to pay Hulu Live $44.95 per month nor should I have to.
