Yes race issue exist at most every major university in the south for people of color particularly African Americans. My cousins, for example, him and 5 of his buddies from Ft. Pierce Fla, attended University of Fla for medicine in the late 70's and they had to fight discrimination for grades at UF. They finished, two cardiologist one who is the a surgeon and the first Black to become one in school history, my cousin is an internal MD, Bob is a Dentist, and one Pharmacist. On the other hand, That will not fly at UA for the Football players trust me they have the best of the best in all areas until they graduate.

I don't know where you are getting your info but racism is at every university, and the comment about them being done with you after you are done playing football is also false. Every football player that plays at bama will have numerous chances to be successful, they take care of all those guys! They may not give them 100,000 dollar a year jobs but if they are willing to work they will be able to provide for their family comfortably.
I get my information from guys who played at UA face to face. Once your done, it is over unless you were the man during playing days!!!. It's a business and unequal in pay.

I have lived in both the north and south. I grew up in Connecticut...and have lived in south florida. Last 22 years I have lived in Georgia.
As I said, it exists elsewhere, but it is worse in the south. For example, Ole Miss is still flying the rebel flag. The state flag of Florida is a Confederate battle flag with a seal in the middle. Go talk to a few members of Kappa Alpha fraternity about race relations and see how that goes...you won't find them in NE schools. Education is the best way to change it and the white and black leaders of this country need to call it out on both sides.

new jersey and new York is not a racist place: police killing Black men daily. I am not defending UA I think it is a racist school just like most predominantly white schools. The only difference is the football players normally don't have that much interaction with the school per say as a normal student would.
Georgia is still a monster, do you some history and you will find it is still one of the most racist places in America
Man...I have lived here a long long time dude....lol. I don't have to do any history. I live it here every day. It's like anywhere else. It depends on where you are. New York is horrible! But at the same time....at least every race interacts better there at any other place I have seen.
Back then the political platforms were reversed dude. You gotta know your history. Democrats of today started their current platform with LBJ and the civil rights movement.
Well, to be fair, that was George Wallace, who was the epitome of a Dixiecrat, and much more aligned with some viewpoints of modern faaaar right wing conservatives. However, as I've stated, political affiliation has nothing to do with the adoption of values that stress that one race is better than another. There are plenty of examples where liberals, just as conservatives, lump people together, rather than try to understand the other side. It's intellectual laziness and ignorance that drives everyone apart.
