All this talk of what offensive scheme should be

in regards to the player fits is just so disingenuous. Last year the scheme was 97% 11 personnel spread read option with Perry, who failed to prove adept at running it. If Perry was such a natural at running that offense, what happened? The board went ballistic in blaming the Richts, his scheme and the development of Perry. Again, however if Perry's best fit is in a standard 11 spread scheme, shouldn't his baseline ability be at least average?
This year Enos has run plenty of 11 spread with Williams and Perry, both have had mixed results. Sure the o-line deserves the blame it's received, but in actuality the offense this year had outperformed the offense last year, running an offense that most of you guys asked for. Scored more TD's per drive, covered a larger percentage of yards and eliminated some of the 3 and outs. I proved that in my thread on offensive stats.
