I totally agree @mshodell you have to punish these kids with playing time.
also one thing @gferman said which is true , kids are using and are going to use the transfer portal as a weapon.
this is why I Think you need a recruiter at Miami. Why you need a guy like Mario. Not only will he bring a process , that Saban process, and instill discipline
but he will also recruit top guys to come fight and compete and if a kid doesn’t want to compete or wants to use the portal as a weapon then fine , no worries we already have your replacement on the team and coming in this recruiting class and we are already recruiting that kid who is coming in replacement.
Manny issues is he can NOT properly develop kids or recruit their replacement. That’s why he has to play who he has with no threat of playing time. But when you recruit like a boss you can then keep stacking top class on top class.
this is also why I harp on HC’s that have proven to develop and recruit the position they are known for to an elite level. When you can recruit and develop at a micro level then when you get your chance you can expand that to MACRO level. If you have not proven to do just that at a MICRO level then how can anyone expect you to do it at at a MACRO level. This is the KEY reason why I saw Manny failing and this hire being HORRIBLE from day one!

1. Install discipline and accountability that filters down not up.
2. a recruiter that can keep bringing the talent in to keep creating that competition so kids can’t get lazy because. Kids in the past were afraid to get hurt because they knew they would lose your their job. I remember Greg threat was all conference the previous year and lost his job the next.
im not saying Mario is Saban. Nobody is but I think he could be what Kirby is For UGA for us. That perfect fit that is able to keep bringing in top talent and keep us competing for conference titles and national titles why he continues to evolve as a HC
