Yes Miami baseball stadium, Miami Jai Lai, gulf stream race track, sportstorium, sunrise musical theatre. Pirates World. Been to them all. Great music festival happening right now 72nd Collins I went yesterday going again todayI remember seeing the Doors and the Allman Brothers .They were a great concert series.
I absolutely loved Miami Jai-alai in the 70's and 80's. In it's heyday, you couldn't even get a seat on a Friday or Saturday night if you didn't have a reservation or get there early enough. The skill those players possessed was under appreciated. Good Times!Yes Miami baseball stadium, Miami Jai Lai, gulf stream race track, sportstorium, sunrise musical theatre. Pirates World. Jai Alai was fun but completely fixed. I had a friend who was a Spanish priest from Madrid and he was friends with many of the Basque players. We always sat in the front row and when the players marched out one would yell in Spanish, "Father Esteban, bet on me. Nobody had any money back then but we always won at Miami Jai Alai.I absolutely loved Miami Jai-alai in the 70's and 80's. I was at both of them, thanls for jolting my memory!I remember seeing Sly and the Family Stone there and Jethro Tull.
Caught Jeff Beck Wired tour there. Lets not forget the Gusman Hall downtown Miami back then which had nearly perfect acoustics. Miami Jai Lai had the comfortable red velvet seats. I got busted seeing the Greetings from Asbury Park Springsteen Tour there and well then I ended up doing 6 in the Navy. LOL trueI absolutely loved Miami Jai-alai in the 70's and 80's. I got to hear Jimi at Pirates World. My brother was going to the concert and our Mom told him if he wanted to go that he had to bring me along. The rumor when we were young is that a girl got bit and killed by a Coral snake while riding that Steeplechase ride. It never stopped us from riding it.You went on the Steeplchase ? LOL remember the rumors that their were snakes beneath the horses so don't fall off? LOL LOL
Exactly! Too funny. You couldn't have a ride like that these days. I don't even think the waist belts worked! The rumor when we were young is that a girl got bit and killed by a Coral snake while riding that Steeplechase ride. It never stopped us from riding it.

The Wild Mouse ride is what scared me the first couple of times on it. That thing seemed like it was going to go off the tracks on the corners.Exactly! Too funny. You couldn't have a ride like that these days. I don't even think the waist belts worked!
Sammy Davis Jr. at the DeauvilleBeatles, Deauville Hotel, Miami Beach
Was there!!! Played Bitches Brew album. All members of his group were all stars. Wayne Shorter John McLaughlin Jack DeJohnette Chick Correa. Maybe the best concert I ever attended. How about all you serious Blues aficionados, walking out to the patio at the student union and seeing Lightin' Hopkins playing acoustic guitar, or Miles Davis in the evening one night on the patio. MILES DAVIS! It was amazing.
Miles Davis was great. Younger people don't have an appreciation for the Jazz greats. Sad really. How about all you serious Blues aficionados, walking out to the patio at the student union and seeing Lightin' Hopkins playing acoustic guitar, or Miles Davis in the evening one night on the patio. Jai alai was awesome … they had an amateur jai alai venue right off 151 and biscayne that I played at for years … got pretty good at it .. grew up watching Joey , Michelana, Benny , and many othersI absolutely loved Miami Jai-alai in the 70's and 80's. That's awesome you played it. I was a good tennis player back in the 70's and 80's. There was a fronton close to where I grew up next to the Bowl-O-Mat on US1 and 136th St. I tried it but was not very good.Jai alai was awesome … they had an amateur jai alai venue right off 151 and biscayne that I played at for years … got pretty good at it .. grew up watching Joey , Michelana, Benny , and many others
