Not bad enough higher gas prices they want to tax the miles we drive.. No kidding. Thank you morons for voting in these idiots!
Fool Raoul
Pretty redundant because they already have a fairly high tax on gas.Not bad enough higher gas prices they want to tax the miles we drive.. No kidding. Thank you morons for voting in these idiots!

They don’t understand the term regressive taxHaving a tax on miles driven hurts 2 groups of people the most - lower and middle income drive the most miles just to work
You have stat to show this? I thought the lower class lived in urbanized centers? I thought suburbs and exurbs were not lower and lower-middle class.Having a tax on miles driven hurts 2 groups of people the most - lower and middle income drive the most miles just to work
We aren't cutting a tax they are adding a tax, I suggest you look up REGRESSIVE taxes versus PROGRESSIVE taxes. Regressive taxes affect the poorest of the country the most as a % of their income genius. This means if I have to pay the MILES DRIVEN tax it affects me FAR LESS than that of a low income person.ROLMAO@Regressive tax? We can't be stupid here! We can't go on like this. Keep cutting taxes and expect the greatest country in the would to sustain this by just not spending. Learn economics. We have to have revenue. There is no possible way to continue down a path of where all the benefits the rich and upper class people get is not paid back in taxes.
Companies like Amazon and the rich people behind them thrive off the little guy keeping them in business. The little guy is the consumer. You are successful because of our capitalistic system. You have obligated to pay your fair share back into the coffers. You can't allow everyone else to purchase your products and services so you are rich and also support the tax burden of our society. That is a stupid model and only cucks are okay with rich people getting off scott free so they don't get a "regressive tax".
This is ridiculous! Everyone has to pay taxes to sustain our society. Clean water is not free. Healthy food to eat is not free. Roads and bridges that don't fall apart is not free. Defense is not free. Supporting our needs cost money. We can't live in a society where 2 individuals have more wealth than the bottom 40% of Americans. That is stupid.
Ellu I'm surprised at your question. You know darn well that as a % of income lower income folks paying the same tax as high income folks is by it's very nature REGRESSIVE. It's not complicated for a smart guy like you. Perhaps you think all URBAN areas have great mass transit systems. I would direct your attention to Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, etc.....many urban areas where a person can't just hop on a subway like NYC. Add Atlanta to the list. You have stat to show this? I thought the lower class lived in urbanized centers? I thought suburbs and exurbs were not lower and lower-middle class.
not wading into the discussion I’m asking for factual confirmation.
I didn’t discuss regressive taxes just the idea that poorer folks make longer commutes. I don’t believe that.Ellu I'm surprised at your question. The distance isn't the point. The % of tax against a persons income is the point coupled with the absurdity of another taxI didn’t discuss regressive taxes just the idea that poorer folks make longer commutes. I don’t believe that.

Yes...YOU ARE CUTTING TAXES!!! Trump did that and 83% of it only the rich benefited from. I don't have any idea who told you that we are not cutting taxes. We are and loop holes need to be closed. This is getting ridiculous. I know what regressive and progressive taxes are. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I am talking about in the sense that fundamentally we can not sustain a society like ours without everyone equally sharing the tax burden as they benefit from our capitalistic model...while the rest of us have to use subpar roads and bridges. Drink unclean water and have no regulation for food and drugs. etc etc etc. Look up the things our tax burden pays for.We aren't cutting a tax they are adding a tax, I suggest you look up REGRESSIVE taxes versus PROGRESSIVE taxes. Additionally like the TYPICAL LIBERAL you are, you focus on more money from the people and NEVER look at less spending by the Federal Government. That makes you none too smart.
Fair enough read this.I specifically said

That’s what I’m asking about.
CD you are all over the place. First of all we are not speaking about Trump it's Bidens turn. The biggest loop holes are the loss carry forward that hedge funds enjoy and the Democrats NEVER want to touch those or bye bye wall street money. That isn't the point of the thread though friend.Yes...YOU ARE CUTTING TAXES!!! Trump did that and 83% of it only the rich benefited from. Drink unclean water and have no little regulation for food and drugs. etc etc etc. Look up the things our tax burden pays for.
The right sees someone increasing taxes and automatically flips their shit....even when it doesn't even apply to them. Regressive taxes and progressive taxes are just taxes. The semantics of it isn't as important as what the tax burden does if it isn't addressed. Everyone has to pay a fair share. Not just the little guy...and fighting this fight on behalf of the big guy is just cuckery at it's finest.

Thanks but that’s a 2015 article and the focus is on commuting time not distance. It’s a function of congestion and traffic. The survey is linked in the article and that is what I read.Fair enough read this.

How Long Commutes Are Making Life Hell for the Poor
Yet another consequence of gentrificationwww.theatlantic.com
Now that's another topic "loopholes" employed by the largest and wealthiest but I have no energy for that discussion today except to say I agree. Thanks but that’s a 2015 article and the focus is on commuting time not distance. It’s a function of congestion and traffic. The survey is linked in the article and that is what I read.
still don’t see the answer regarding longer distance (as the mileage is what ostensibly is being taxed) commutes.
Im on record for tax raises. Not flat or regressive but the Amazon’s of the world. I’d also like to see help in the way we help farmers for small businesses trying to compete with Amazon Facebook and other conglomerates. Break em up!
You don't hesitate and poor doesn't equal race. Lots of poor people of every race out there. Our attitudes in this country about tax burden are extremely racist. I hesitate to bring race into this discussion but the discussion can't be had without it. Because the fact is people look at people on food stamps and public assistance as takers. Even if they work and make a minimum wage these same people would never vote for. We all have an inherent need as well as a right to feed our families.
However, when a wealthy person has a tax loophole they are not looked at the same way. Why else would that be other than a race perception? They run around saying it is their money but it is NOT THEIR MONEY. It is their tax burden. It's not your money. It is what is owed in return for you living in a society that allows you to make money with no caps.
So these people that don't pay taxes because of their loopholes get to run around and drink the clean water, take advantage of our planes, our defense system, our society while they evade taxes. Then to boot tell everyone else who doesn't pay or gets public assistance a taker? Only a cuck would buy into this bullshit! Only because they are looking at who these people are by race, creed, age etc.
I completely agree with this but that's not what i said. I said "OUR ATTITUDES" specifically. Most people on public assistance are actually white. The most money does not go to minorities...but if you look at the attitudes it is clear. Most rich people are white as well. So, these attitudes are designed around this fact. Preservation of wealth. That's what this is all about. Preserving wealth. You don't hesitate and poor doesn't equal race. Lots of poor people of every race out there.

OK Jethro, from brain surgeon to international playboy to soda jerk to astronaut and now to economist. Quite the life you live
Please site the study that showed that 83% of. Trump tax cut only benefitted the rich.
Study? I think you meant "Cite" or quote. Let's start with this Donald Trump / White House quote:
“And the rich will not be gaining at all with this plan,” referring to his tax cut proposal.
White House – Wednesday, September 13, 2017
I think that it is higher considering the fact that the rich enjoy loopholes helping evade there tax responsibility. The percentage is debatable depending on who you talk to when you consider who truly benefited.
My point was NOT the percentage at all. It was the fact that this cut was for the rich/wealthy. Not everyday people.
He can't cite a source that shows it has benefitted 83%. Will benefit is more accurate but not what you all are arguing. In 2027 82.7% will be for the top 1%. Rounded up its 83%, but that's not "ed'' past tense, its in the future. Study 2027Please site the study that showed that 83% of. Trump tax cut only benefitted the rich.
I don't really have an issue with inheritance. They can pass their own money down. After they pay their tax burden. All I ask is they pay their fair share. That's all. They don't just enjoy loopholes, a majority of the wealthy don't actually earn their own money, they inherit it, which is why anyone over 50m needs to be taxed at 90% to dislodge that money from being hoarded at the top.
When you choose to call people out for selecting the wrong word, you shouldn’t make the same mistake in your own post.Study? I think you meant "Cite" or quote. Let's start with this Donald Trump / White House quote:

To be fair it wasn’t a homophone that he was pointing out and moreso I think he was making it clear that it was an actual Trump attribution. When you choose to call people out for selecting the wrong word, you shouldn’t make the same mistake in your own post.
The correct word is their, not, there.
I can’t wait for you to explain the correlation between taxing people for driving their cars and freedom. Good lord you people are stupidYou are welcome #freedomisntfree
