I was definitely going to suggest this list as well. My dad and uncles are WW2 vets. PT 109 and Crusade in Europe were passions (Ike and Patton were kings in our home). Argo was fantastic and I was introduced to it by a frat brother who was on the original raid that got pulled because a sandstorm blew their cover. He swears to this day they all would have died, badass Marine. Because Charles Young holds such high honor in my frat (we wear gold boots for his legend) Black Officer in a Buffalo Soldier Regiment: The Miliarty Career of Charles Young, comes highly recommended. I also highly recommend Rise and Kill First, great book about the Mossad. On my shortlist to read is Black Hawk Down, still haven't and definitely will check out No. Shorecane's reccos.
Walk In My Combat Boots- James Patterson and First Sergeant Matt Eversmann- non fiction- vignettes about combat in Iraq and Afghanistan

Modern Warriors- Pete Hegseth- graduate of Princeton and Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Mr. Hegseth did combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan earning two bronze stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. He also deployed to Gitmo. This is a series of vignettes about combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Didn’t Tom Cotton earn the combat badge as well?
