For the 1st time in it's history California had a drop of 182,083 in it's population. EVERY SINGLE YEAR IN RECORDED HISTORY CALIFORNIA HAS GROWN and now people and business are saying Adios, bye bye, see ya later alligator, ciao bella, nice knowing you.

Bad policies, high taxes, homelessness, regulations, cost of home ownership and rent, no bail, releasing prisoners, sanctuary cities / state and people are saying HELL NO goodbye!

That’s in spite of the influx of illegal immigrants

57,

Check your facts. Immigration, legal and illegal, is way down.

Birthrates are down consistently, particularly among teens.

Movement to other locations, including out of state, are up. Remote working alternatives (Spurred by the pandemic and enabled by zoom, etc) are up.

These are national trends not restricted to California.

Well here are the facts and charts I suggest it is you who should check his facts

Birth rates; in its effect on fertility rates. Among foreign-born Latinas, total fertility rates—a measure of completed family size—average 3.7 children per woman. In contrast, the state’s lowest fertility rates are among U.S.-born Asians, who have an average of 1.4 children per woman. Overall, the state’s total fertility rate has been fairly stable over the past 10 years and near the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman.

FACTS and RESEARCH. They are NOT National trends. As 1 State loses population still others grow.

Sorry, HJ, lower birth rates, including among Latina women, are most certainly a national trend. The US birth rate has declined for 5 years in a row. This trend mirrors the European experience over the past two decades.

Japan is much worse than Europe or the US, as women are working, marrying less and choosing not to have kids. Japan’s added problem is that it is still very anti immigrant, preferring a racially homogenous country over economic growth.

To assume that the population decline in California is not a precursor of national trends is a big mistake.

I assume nothing. Birth rates are declining but still enough in America for population growth. Japan, as you rightly point out is in big trouble.

Did you say legal and illegal immigration is down? Are you serious? It’s not only up but way up. March 2021 it was up 71% from the previous month! 71%!!!!!

Actually is very sad. I truly hope California and New York realize nothing good comes from democrat single party rule.
