Cashville and other law enforcement - your opinions on the Ohio Middle School Arrest

I will say that I support law enforcement 95+% of the time. I am curious what your opinions are of this video, which has a couple other threads.



Have my opinions but am curious to hear what those on the street think of this. Obviously we don't have all the details.

Here’s the problem. The cops didn’t come up with that law and many of them maybe don’t even agree with it but they’re given their direction by their command staff who is given their instructions by the city council mayor etc. Thus the cops are seen as the bad guys here when their just following the orders of elected officials.

Here is the statement from the police department. Lady should have just put a mask on when he asked. Yeah, it's stupid as f@ck but the man has a job to do. Seems he asked her several times and it escalated. She could have just complied and it's over. If you really want to make a stand then peacefully tell the officer no and then peacefully let him escort you out.

I had this exact same conversation last night with some IMG fans. In the PD’s press release it talks about them following all of these guidelines. None of those guidelines are enforceable state laws. As a former SRO, this is the schools job to enforce not the SRO. We should never be henchmen for someone else’s policies. He had no legal authority to do that.

Now if the school officials told her to leave and she refused then it’s trespassing and a different story but that was absurd!

I agree. From the release it says she wasn't arrested but cited for criminal trespassing for refusing to follow the schools policy and released. I'm all for getting rid of these masks. You can stand your ground and refuse but when your asked to leave then just leave or take the trespassing citation peacefully to make a point. I think the woman probably made this more difficult then it had to be.

Maybe so but typical admin putting the sro in a bad situation. It’s not like there were people all bunched up & a small child that had to be picked up by the father. Honestly angered me a bit!

It was stupid no doubt. These masks are a political ploy. They do nothing and help nothing.
