For those watching the draft on NFL Network, what are your impressions of Charlie Strong? Mine is of a straightforward, straight shooting football guy. Ethical and honest.
On the downside, however, he has zero TV presence. He comes across as shy and uncomfortable in this public spotlight. This is in great contrast to David Shaw's performance last night in the same role. Shaw was at ease and comfortable on TV. His NFL background was no doubt helpful.
I wish Charlie well at Texas. I can see, however, why the gigantic alumni network of UT would be less than thrilled with his public persona. He's no match off the field to Mack Brown. He will rise and fall with his on the field performance. Triumph and he stays. Fall short and he's gone, quickly.
