It's amazing what's going on. 10 of the 14 SEC teams' head coaches have been there for less than 2 years. Look at the Gators, 4 coaches in the last 8 years. We all can say a lot of bad things about the Gators, but not that they haven't paid up for their coaches! Look at all the prominent schools that have fired their coaches already this year, it's nutty. And everyone being hired by these programs in the past few years have been called the ONE that will bring the school back to prominence.
While we need a change, we can't assume that the new coach will have success. Even though some top HS kids have gone to school outside of Florida, there should still be more than enough talent left for FSU, UF, and the U to field above-average teams. But the whole state on the college level is horrible. Has talent levels gone that much downhill in Florida high schools to cause this? If that's the case, it's going to be no easy task for our new coach to be successful. While there are some super coaches, most coaches know what they're doing. They wouldn't have survived in the business as long as they have without a basic understanding of football fundamentals. I hope for the best, but it's certainly not assured whatever we do!!!!
