Most know the story that the BOT had to make a decision, go all in for football or actually become the Harvard of the south in football and not contend on the big stage. The BOT ultimately gave it a shot, and we ended up with Schnelly. And as they say, the rest is history.
If Manny ultimately fails, I pray he doesn't he was my second choice, I think we will be beyond the point of making fast, cheap decisions, The decision will have to once again be made to either be a perennial second-tier team, even in the ACC, or do we once again make a bold move? What is a bold move? Well let's just say that Mario would not be a bold move, it might be an acceptable move, but certainly not a bold move. A bold move would be someone that the general consensus would say will never come to the U. That can be a lot of folks, but money talks. Will the U talk, or will the U join the BS and walk?
I know this is a bit premature, but it is a real possibility if Manny's American Dream doesn't succeed.
For the record, I am far from giving up on Manny, but I am also one who is always looking down the road to see what kind of reality is steamrolling towards me.
