This is a shocking horrifc take and is line with the disaster unfolding in Florida, governors like DeSantis wrongly believe Covid-19 is personal responsibility. That principle (while being advantageous to their base) is destructive way to govern. We know from measles, mumps when a raging infectious disease like the delta variant is on the loose (one person infects on average up to 6 others) personal responsibility is out the window. It shuts down hospitals, schools which is basic abdication of governance by Desantis. The responsible thing is to accept the cost of school being open with maximum protections required for all kids. Nobody has a “personal responsibility” to infect others with this virus and continue to cause chaos in our community. WhIch is why we should be mandating vaccines to win this war against the virus, it is are only way out of this. The founding principle of the US are that people come together and form laws based on reason, while personal responsibility doesn’t work against delta. We can’t continue to be sitting ducks for this virus.

I understand you are simply just giving your opinion about things, and your opinion only. They said the same exact thing about DeSantis last year when he did the same exact thing and left the State open and gave the people the OPTION of choosing for THEMSELVES, not the gov. And it turned out extremely well for the people for Florida. Especially for people in a State that has the oldest population. For people who live in FLA (especially in Miami), its full of people who fled rouge, communist dictators who enforced socialism that also produced gov mandates in several parts of their gov. The economy to be specific. I don't know how for the life of people some America born don't understand why a lot of these people risk their lives for FREEDOM to come to this country. They escaped exactly what some Govs, mayors and other UNELECTED officials are trying to do here, and thats take away the freedom to CHOOSE.

Being born and raised in Miami I've had family members, close friends who I have seen what them and their families have gone through just to get to America, and I want no part of that even remotely close in America. We either believe in all of our laws or we believe in none of them. There are several similarities that are transpiring here in the US that happened first in those countries decades ago before they were turned into a full blow communist/socialist's country. So please spare me the nonsense of we need to force people against their will to do this or that for a virus we will most likely all get and survive (nearly 100% survival rate) anyway. Because the DATA says the complete opposite.

Delta just like any other variant has the possibility to be more contagious, but NOT MORE DEADLY. More contagious is different from more Deadly. You're (this is what the media does) conflating the two when the two are SEPARATE.

I've stated this before -- its a virus, people WILL GET SICK. Why is this such a difficult concept for people to understand? Who do you know who's ever had the flu and not get sick?? Some people will get mildly sick, some people will get really sick with the flu (depends on your immune system), but they're still SICK.

Lastly, there's always people in the hospital (ICU especially). What and how are they dying from is a different story. Were they in there for something completely unrelated to covid, then happened to get tested for covid (standard protocol now in hospitals) and then they are tested positive but that wasn't the original reason they went in there? I mean there so many different variables as to why people are in the hospital. Say there are 17,000 people in the hospital right now, only about 30% of those are directly covid related, and out of those 30% over 90% of those people are either asymptomatic or experiencing mild like symptoms, about 7% need to be on ventilators. The 3% or less are people who are actually in there covid related and are having a hard time. There's a 95% chance those people are the PRIME CANDIDATES for who covid targets the most (elderly with serious immune conditions & the clinically obese with serious immune conditions). This is what the media never reports on. They only mention the 17,000 people in the hospital. Its a hospital, where else are sick people going to go?? They never mention who is in there for covid specifically, and who is seriously ill dying FROM covid not dying WITH covid. They do this to keep their doomsday narrative.

The percentage I've mentioned was from the State of NYC and FLA last year from the States Department of health website. The data has NOT changed with delta aside from the mean time for infection (increased contagion), its just changed with how its being reported (new narrative).

Delta has basically changed the game and Florida never reacted to it. Delta becomes more deadly because it transmits so easily and more people are now exposed. To openly campaign against vaccine mandates is beyond insanity.

Sorry, but you are incorrect on all points. First, it has to be and will only be a choice here in the United States of America to be injected with medicine - that simply is not left up to the Government to decide...PERIOD. I don't want to give the gov that sort of power and open Pandora's box. Can only imagine what the gov would do in the future if they try and mandate something again. You either believe in all our laws, or you believe in none of it.

Second, there is a difference with the measles, smallpox etc than it is with Covid. Covid targets two main groups over 90% of the time. The measles and smallpox target every age group EQUALLY. Covid targets the elderly 70yrs and older with SERIOUS IMMUNE DEFICIENCIES, and the clinically obese with SERIOUS IMMUNE DEFICIENCIES. Listening to the media and some in our gov, they would have you think that its healthy people dying in the hospitals, ITS NOT, its those who have weak immune systems and in those two age groups primarily which is why the media rarely if ever report on the acutal ages and pre-existing conditions of these people.

3rd, kids are largely un-effected by having covid, and transmitting covid to an adult. Even if a kid were to contract covid (which is extremely rare) they are overwhelmingly asymptomatic. Close to 400 kids lost their lives to the flu in 2018 and 2019 combined (1 to many), that is more than covid has killed - yet we don't mask up our kids in schools and put up plastic barriers in front of their desk for the flu, but we do for a disease that's less deadlier??

And lastly, we are approaching this wrong. With the vaxx vs the unvaxx. It should be the immune vs the unimmune. The whole point to this is to be immune. There are over 100 million people in this country who's had covid and then recovered and STILL have the antibodies (I'm a year and counting now). Couple that with over 200 million Americas who's been vaccinated, that is herd immunity. I have never ever heard where in order for a vaccine to work that 100% of the population needs to be vaccinated, that is simply not scientific or rational. Especially for a virus that I have nearly 100% survival rate.

Stop comparing transmissibility with deadly, they are two completely two DIFFERENT THINGS. They aren't the same, YOU'RE making them the same. The uniqueness of covid is the way it does basically latch onto someone's immune system, this is not the normal the way for a novel coronavirus behaviour...at all. Which is why I am now more convinced that this thing was man made and China screw up by someone at the lab letting it get out.

But your FEAR MONGERING on spreading miss information intentionally or un-intentionally is what is wrong with this country today. Just because you are scared or concerned, 1. our constitutional right does not get a temp hold status, and 2. you don't get to redefine words and their meanings.
