Gary or Matt correct me if you see it differently but I think Mario's hires are also future looking. One concern I have about Steele and Gattis is tenure here. I see Gattis for sure as a 2-3 year deal at the most before he is offered a HC job and leaves. Steele has a history of moving around a lot too. I see the Ponce hire as grooming him for the OC job and the Strong hire as putting the possibility of being DC after Steele as well. They both can recruit also which is big as when the Steele and Gattis move on they will try to use the recruiting inroads they made in Florida to their advantage at the new place they go to. Cristobal is definitely looking 3 or more years out in hiring position coaches.
