Which is better?

I have direct with no internet ( thru dtv) , HBO, the fox sports channels, etc. And pay about $100/month. I just talked them down from $120/mo. I have no her and no hi def. I want both but don't want to pay more.

Anything special I need to know about dish? I've had dtv since '98 but would like to upgrade AND save money.

Thouts? Any channels dish does not carry?

I have been in the Satellite Industry 17 years and can give you honest opinion. If you must have the NFL, you can only go with Directv. If you want a good monthly price for programming with the best technology, go with Dish. Get the hopper w/ Sling and you can watch your live programming anywhere with a good internet connection on your phone or tablet.

Just to be fair, I will tell you I have been a dish employee for over 14 years but have always remained neutral when asked for my opinion.

The best thing to do is get a demo from a local retailer, not a big box electronics store. PM me if you want more info.

Go Canes!!

I just switched from Dish to Directv. Dish had crept my bill up to around $150 over the course of a few years. I have DVr and HD so I would pay more than you. Directv got me the same package with their introductory offer and it will be around $110 when that expires. You should go ahead and pay for the hd you will be amazed at the difference. Also dish doesn't have espnu in HD. This was a killer for me since half our games were on espnu this year.
