Instead of bashing Trump I thought it would be entertaining to get your thoughts on whether Dr Deborah Birx should be a member of President Elect Biden's team? I say no! She sacrificed her professional reputation to back Trump's lies and misinformation. I remember that day when Trump told the American people to drink disinfectants to rid ourselves of the virus and Dr Birx sat silent. She in my opinion lost all credibility that day.

No data? To my knowledge, Fauci has been offered and has accepted a top position with Biden. Don’t think Dr. Birx has received an offer.

I agree that Birx blew her credibility when she didn’t contradict Trump’s nutty recommendations of internal light to cure Covid. She just sat there awkwardly at the press conference . She lost all professional standing with that non move.

I would have liked for her to push back more on Trump's nonsense. She stood by and allowed him to figuratively and literally kill Americans. She's trying to make a last minute effort to save her career but for me it's too late. This is no different than the many Republicans who did nothing to stop Trump's destruction of our norms.

C52 serious consideration and thought should be given b-4 allowing her a 2nd opportunity to serve the American people. We all make mistakes, perhaps supporting and indulging Trump was her one mistake. Unlike that poor excuse for one of God’s children, Trump, his mistakes are countless, starting with being born. Just to mention a few, a man that made vows b-4 god and man to honour his wife, cheated on all three of them, he even took his whore with him on vacation with his wife and kids what type of man does that. Do you think this same man cares about you and your family, I think not. Tens of thousands of Americans have dead from this virus, has he shown any degree empathy, or the slightest degree of humility. All great leaders possess these traits, this alone discounts him as a great leader. What type of man particularly an American president, separates kids from their parents and places those kids in cages. I often wonder how our hispanic brethren would feel if they were in fact treated in this manner when they arrived on our shores. How quickly we forget......

I've already stated a while back in a different thread that Joe Biden will be our next president. He will have my support unless something changes before Jan 20. I do hope they hold him and his administration to the same standards they used for Trump during his time in office.

Let me be clear. I will hold Joe Biden to the highest standards of ethics like I've done for all presidents. If witnesses come forward with credible evidence Biden bribed an ally, I would strongly urge for impeachment. If Biden gives away state secrets to the Russians I will assume he's a traitor. If Biden pardoned his son I would see that as the epitome of corruption.

You know how I feel about public corruption. I despise it no matter which side does it.

Your facts are incorrect, Obama did not start this policy, though his admin did in fact implement it on occasion. Kids were only separated from their parents for a short period Of time, not systematically as in the Trump presidency. Jose Diaz Balart had to call trump out on the same lie

Obama absolutely did build the cages and his administration put people in them. Obama administration was prior to Trump. The facts are well documented.

I dug into the data to answer my own question: more public support for Fauci or Birx? The September 2020 poll by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundtion found:

* for the general public, Fauci has the trust of 78% to provide accurate information while Birx is trusted by 53%. Only 40% Trust Trumps info on the pandemic.

* but, the results sharply divide along partisan lines: 86% of Dems trust Fauci while only 48% of Repubs trust him.

* only 44% of Dems trust Birx while 70% of Republican trust her.


The comments in this thread mirror this divide: Dems trust Fauci while Republicans prefer Birx. Plain and simple.

I didn’t imply that the Obama regime didn’t build the cages, my point is his regime didn’t systematically remove kids from the arms of the their parents, some of which are still separated from their love ones. Look I have no discord with you or anyone on this board, my beef is with a man that i thought would be good for this country, what he has done is torn our nation apart, and we didn’t see it coming, with the exception of his own relatives, they called it. The exact same thing that occurred in Cuba could occur here, Batista took his eyes off the prize and his people and lost our country to Castro, I don’t want to see it occur Ever again.

I trust Dr Fauci not because of any superior intellect over Dr Birx but because of his independence. Dr Birx showed little to no independence even when Trump spouted stupid shzt. She is a well respected doctor but now her career has been severely damaged by her lack of forthrightness to Trump. Lives were on the line and she failed to step up.
