The scienctific challenges described in the video are real and stubborn. The technologies you mention are all part of an overall effective energy strategy. Efficiency of the creation, transmission and storage of energy.will yield both economic and environmental benefits.
But shutting down the Keystone pipeline does nothing to help those technologies. Greedy private equity companies funding research by greedy engineers and being left alone to do so, does help.

I Neglected to say US EV sales. Globally growing like a weed. Following incentives expiring in CA in 2018 sales have fallen off in US. Would expect new administration will incentivize electric sales.
Assuming you produce more energy than you use. Only 20-40% of residences produce more than they consume.
