Real thoughts here...everyone take off the slurping orange and green glasses.
Gary has said time and time again that its a recruiting issue and that Manny deserves more time....nobody will force Blake to vacate.
I think the major issue with the University of Miami is that the administration does not look at its income generating sports (Football and Basketball) as a business. The University and BOT still look at its program as a small private school that can live on history and stories of old.
Miami is not some place that is highly desirable to recruits and coaches for numerous reasons. Until the powers that be and it’s fan base demand change nothing will affect the current situation.
It shouldn’t matter how much money is at stake with the current administration and its coaches.
An excellent run business will cut its losses and make the necessary changes to appease it’s shareholders. If they don’t then the share holders will jump ship and the company will lose it’svalue. They are then primed for a takeover or be relegated to wither and die. WE ARE LITERALLY WATCHING THAT HAPPEN!
THE PROGRAM IS DYING!
Look at every mid level school that was terrible in the 80s and 90s and look at how they are running their programs! CMR did a lot of bad things, but he did get the University to get off its ass and start acting like it’s a business......but then CMR and the University stopped. With one exception.....CMR stepped down. Every good CEO knows when he has lost the ability to right the ship.
I cannot see how anyone would invest in a failing and dying business unless there was a complete change in the Administration and it’s management. There needs to be a complete removal of the management in place.
That is why you are not seeing any talent be infused into the program both as players and coaches.
Fans need to wake up and demand change. Only way that happens if they stop buying a failing product.
