Former five-star basketball recruit to visit Miami

The Miami Hurricanes are continuing to build its roster for the upcoming season.

According to reports, Texas power forward Dillon Mitchell took a visit to Miami on Wednesday.

Mitchell, who stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 205 pounds, is ranked 60th in the Rivals.com transfer portal rankings.

As a sophomore, Mitchell averaged 9.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals last season. Mitchell shot 58.5 percent from the floor and averaged 29.0 minutes per game helping the Longhorns to a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

He posted a career-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks against back-to-back champion UConn early last season.

Mitchell also started as a freshman, averaging 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds on 64 percent shooting.

Mitchell was a former five-star prospect coming out of high school and the fourth-ranked played in the country from the 2022 class. At Montverde Academy High School in Tampa, FL, he was a McDonald's All-American, averaging 12.3 points, ten rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
