EVERY SINGLE TEAM WE PLAY, GIVES US THEIR BEST SHOT...ergo...(We ALWAYS have to be on our game...ALWAYS!!!)...just like a player named (Serena Williams), has to ALWAYS be on her game and have her Serve game at least (80%) on...But especially early-on in these games...thing is we, via our usually game-day superior level of talent...especially verse subpar opponents...are (99%) of the times, able to absorb and withstand these early “subpar team playing way over their heads, blows...and subsequently due to said superior level of talent and depth, we eventually simply wear them down...Just look at some of these games throughout the years...it’s a simple equation really...lookit, let us take this recent (Central Michigan) debacle as Ground Zero...Also, please keep in kind, sports is bout’ (75-80% mental fortitude, heart, toughness, desire, intellect, want-to etc....and bout’ 25% physical)...for a direct, almost eerily similar parallel, I mentioned one (Serena Williams)...she who has been UNIVERSALLY hailed as best Female Tennis player in the history of that sport...yet, and we’ve all heard or seent it, she’s lost to opponents that she has no business losing to and would prolley beat 8 or 9 times out of 10...why? That’s easy...She ALWAYS has to be on her game...ALWAYS...because EVERY, SINGLE, OPPONENT...will ALWAYS play her harder than they would anybody else. Why...cause beating her, even if it happened when she’s way past her prime and still playing...you would be revered by most lay people for simply haven beaten, the GREAT, SERENA WILLIAMS...ok, back to (Central Michigan)
A- Are we...player-for-player...more talented than them...Yes.
B- Were we at home...Yes!
C- Are they a top-tiered “Group of 5” team...No!
D- Were they good the previous year and had their top talent returning...No!...They were (1-11)!!!
E- The week before, they got absolutely DESTROYED and embarrassed by Whisky, the team I saw in those Whisky game highlights...Whisky’s excellent play notwithstanding...looked NOTHING like the team I saw at Da ROKK last Saturday...THEY PLAYED WAY HARDER AND WITH WAY MORE URGENCY AND EFFORT...Why is that inquiring minds might want to know...ok, and I hope you’re still with me here, and I know some/most of you will wipe your collective asses with my entire rambling post as excuse making and especially shit on my final point, but, fcukit...here goes.
Say let us surmise that you are an aging father/grandfather who was a player on this (2018-2020) (Central Michigan) team. And you’re regaling your not so glorious football past to your kids/grandkids years later...and this is one of the very reasons why I i think ALL of our opponents give us their absolute best efforts, and us no longer being that dominant, terrifying, ornery, feared collegiate program we once were, matters not...why...cause which one of these, (We beat Wisconsin once...or...We beat Miami once), scenarios would get you more comments like this from those who googled...(Miami Football history and social relevance...or...Wisconsin Football history and social relevance)...would you get...”DANG uncle kevin, y’all beat the Hurricanes once!”...or...”DANG uncle kevin, y’all beat Wisconsin once.”...I know which one I’d be more impressed with...them (Whisky) having owned us in recent matchups, just make it more ironic)...See fellas, when an upstart team beats a team like (Miami, Notre Lame, USC, The ButfEyes, The SemenHoles, The GhayTurds ...maybe Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State)...they’re not only beating that years version of that team, no, they’re beating EVERY great team that came before and any that may manifest in the future...it’s called the “Serena Williams Effect”...you think those (App State) players on that team that took down mighty Michigan a few years back, worry themselves with minor semantics whenever they proudly and arrogantly regale the specifics of that upset win???...HELL NO...all they know is that they beat MICHIGAN...at...MICHIGAN...just look at how (UNC and the Turds) have played since they played us...have you seent the same level of effort, grit and fire...especially from UNC...???...I rest my case...But at the end of the day...we still should be dominating these subpar opponents...MOST of the time....once every so often...EVERY top, or used to be on top...teams gets that “OH SHIT” game...where you get surprised by a team and you know you in for a fight...but at the end of the day...you still need to win those kinda games...sayin
