My son is six and played in his first football game yesterday. I try my best to be a normal father and not get nuts with this stuff......but I played HS and College ball and want my son to love the game as I did. Most of you know, I can get a little passionate at times.

Little 3rd is playing some offense and a little defense and we have two studs on the team that get all the handoffs, but the coach likes to run counters and occasionally wants to hand it off to the "other guy" as my son is the third best runner. Well, they gave him the ball on our own 5 yard line, he makes one cut and takes it to the house!!!!! LOL

I was just praying that he would keep running. I mean, at that age, who knows. I literally almost pissed myself.

Just thought I would share for you fathers out there that feel euphoric when your kids do anything that is worthy of note!

Painting, learning to read or taking their first touch to the Hizouse!!!! Its all good!

Watching your children excel is second to none. The pride I felt when my son qualified for the 9-10 year old Oh-Way State wrestling tournament was off the charts. I knew he would be manhandled @ state, but he showed well. Finished 13th out of his 32 man bracket. In the double elimination bracket, he lost to two guys that placed top 6. More important, he never got pinned. Only lost on points, 7-2 & 6-0 to some very badass kids. He aso did so w/3 years experience vs kids that had 5-6.
