The cloud only hovered over and effected the football team and coaches. It had no effect on Jim nor did it hover over the basketball team that's why he never talked about it or used it as an excuse.
The cloud was like a radioactive krytonite that only effected the coaching and football team. The magical mist caused coach d onofrio to become constantly disoriented. He would mean to call press coverage with a blitz on 3rd & 4, not 3 man rush 12 yard cushion bail coverage.
Also the magical mist from the cloud would give the other team special powers. Now some of u would say " what ever" " u full of crap" " there is no such thing as magic". But I have proof. Look at all the QBS we played that were garbage but against us they look like Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers/joe Montana. Also how would u explain a sub .500 VA team calling pretty much whatever they wanted and it not only being successful but overly successful.
Sad thing is that there seems to be no end to the cloud. The cloud came in with golden and it's not leaving until he is gone. Thank goodness Jim has the shine of winning attached to him to keep the cloud away.
