Not going to lie… i hated this guy growing up. I was born into being an avid cards fan and this guy just really made things difficult over the years. He looked like shaq in the clay. Not a lot of baseball players as big as him. My god would I hold my breath when he got up to bat.
there was a time where players of any sport were like super heros that always had to have a positive message even if they were full of shit. Do right, brush your teeth, don’t do drugs, learn to read etc, etc. darrel was a cocky party animal that didn’t subscribe to that. He also played for the evil mets.
not going to lie, really a nice guy! Guess he cleaned up and now owns a rehabilitation clinic. Guys doing great. I mean he’s still a met but it’s kinda like if you met steve spurior today. You hated him but he made the game fun and if the guys cool on top of that, it really makes it hard to hate on some one that you want to hate. What a good guy, darrel!
