I realize I’m in the minority on this but I liked hearing his reasoning for hiring Manny so fast. If in fact Richt gave Manny that kind of autonomy on defense it would be interesting as AD to see how he handled the responsibility and I could see using that as a basis for hiring him.
I do think he should have looked at our current defensive depth as concerns for how Manny will manage recruiting. We are so thin at LB we resorted to letting a walk-on LB all but cost us the Ga Tech game. If he did have complete control of the D our current status of depth proves he’s not the right guy for the job.
