Ruiz did a great job this morning of explaining why he gave the money he did to some of these players. Exposure. Notoriety. He said the tweet about the $400,000 NIL deal got 5 million hits. He said the exposure from doing it is essential to his business becoming well known and profitable.
I think many other NIL payors are doing it just to help the school. That is fine and all, but when you have a guy like Ruiz who finds the NIL payouts as profit for HIM, it changes the mindset.
