I am not uncertain, but as it pertains to the NFL’s mentally challenged, archaic OverTime rules…
A- I thought an OT “Sudden Death“ victory is applicable in only these three, distinct scenarios…to wit:
1- The team who wins the coin flip decides to go on offense first…DUHHH…they score a TD…Ballgame!
2- The defense scores via a (Safety/a fumble scoop-and-score/Pick-6) during said opponents FIRST possession…Ballgame!
3- If the score is tied…and this specific rule is critical to my confusion…But if the score is tied AFTER each team’s FIRST possession…next score win…Ballgame!
Now KC did not score during said FIRST possession, and even though they threw a pick, it wadn’t a PICK-6!
Remember according to the rules “I“ saw/read up on the screen before the coin flip. The defense can end/win the game during their opponents FIRST OT possession, one of two ways…a SAFETY or defensive TD…and although they (Cincy), got the INT during (KC’s) FIRST possession, they (Cincy), didn’t score directly off that INT, they simply got possession of the ball. But obviously I must have misinterpreted the, “If defense creates a turnover during their opponents FIRST possession of OT rules.“ Cause obviously if your defense gets a turnover and then said offense goes down and scores either, TD or now a FG, then it’…Ballgame! I surmise because that INT now switches the FIRST possession designation/applicable rules to your team…ergo, all that if you score a TD on your FIRST possession now applies to your team…I think??? But then why is a FG now accepted as being a walk-off score? Cause according to what “I” read on my TV’s screen, if it’s the coin-flip winning teams’ FIRST possession, only TD counts as a walk-off for the offense…NOT A TD/FG??? I’m even more friggin’ confused now??? I’ll wait for someone more well-read than I to explaun, if would be so kind!
