Ok so I will explain the article. When a person has an S corp. (like me) and we generate income, the IRS says we must declare a "reasonable portion" as salary. That portion is subject to social security taxes ( employee and employer share) and Medicaire + federal withholding . This salary portion is subjective however the IRS does like to see a good % and not a low ball number. As An Owner shareholder of an S corp you are both an employee and a shareholder and must treat yourself as such for tax purposes.
