do you even understand how inflation works? Serious question

the way we measure inflation is we look at the last 12 months. are the prices of goods higher today than they were 12 months ago. Obviously you know what was going on 12 months ago so I’ll save that aspect of the chat. But consumer prices actually went down last year because of the lack of purchasing. So essentially we went backwards in the normal cost of inflation. Inflation went from 0.6 in March to 0.8 in April. Not much of a difference. But compared to last April inflation decreased by 3%. So compared to last April we gained 4%. Now prices have gone up, companies are trying to recoup some $ and put prices where they should be back to in the normal cost of inflation. If you double back to 2019 the inflation # is on par.

Gas prices....again let’s go back to last year. If you recall, which you prob don’t cuz it doesn’t seem like you read much of fact based news stories, the price of oil dropped sharply due to the fight between Russia, Iran, and opec. Barrels of oil on feb and March last year were selling for negative dollars. That’s right. There was so much oil out there companies were paying consumers to store it. Fuel prices have actually shoulda been lower last year. Everyone expected for oil prices to go back up once that market actually to become normal again. And in regards to fuel lines I mean come on. That’s just idiotic. The pipeline was shut down. It’s back open things will be normal again by Monday.

mid you expect all of America’s jobs to become filled over night when we are still trying to get people vaccinated and things back on track you’re a fool. The man got inaugurated less than 4 months ago and you expect us to be back to normal already and bc he hasn’t already the hole admin is a failure.
