Obviously it had nothing to do with Obama, but as I mentioned in another thread, by Dems focusing all their attention at the NRA when it looks more and more like there would have still been casualties had the shooter owned a handgun, the message from the Dems gets lost when Dems arent voraciously attacking Scott Israel, who is a Dem, and calling for his ouster. I fully understand how the parents of these victims have ire towards the NRA, but I have to imagine they are shocked, which will be followed by outrage pretty soon over what they are learning everyday about the BSO. As a Republican I am not comfortable with the ease that machine guns can be bought.....but it smells more like party politics when everyone is blaming the NRA for Parkland when its looking more and more like this had a lot more to do with the BSO fumbling the ball way too many times before and during the Parkland shooting.....and Scott Israel is putting up walls everywhere to stop info from getting out.

It's obvious your ire is directed at BSO and not the murderer. Would that be the case if Israel was a Republican? I doubt. What about the other mass murders? Did you play politics in those cases or were the lead investigators Republicans? Our focus s/b on the murderers and how we keep guns from them. Now who's really playing party politics?
I actually had to mention that I am angry at the shooter for my point to be valid? I didnt see any protests from the libbys against the murderer....did you? Take a wild guess why most are not bashing the mentally ill shooter to the same extent they're bashing the NRA. Re-read my post, because if you followed my posts, like the one you responded to in this thread, you will see I made no implication that protesting against the NRA and calling for Scott Israel's ouster are mutually exclusive. The theme of the protests is that Parkland would have been avoided but for the NRA.....and as we see now, the biggest culprit is turning out to be Scott Israel and his leadership. The message gets lost when party politics drive protests.....that was my point.
Protests and calls for action are what? They are methods of expressing yourself to effect change. So what will your theme be in your call for action against the murderer.....lock him up? While I have no problem with the murderer being tortured to death in prison, did you know that under the law if someone is declared mentally ill, many times that person is not held responsible for their actions? This is the exact reason why Israel, the BSO and any other agency who didnt act on threats made by the shooter, as well info about his mental state, should be vilified more than the NRA over this incident. Especially seeing as how in addition to the 40 calls the BSO received for 5 years preceding the shooting about major concerns over the shooter's mental state and propensity for violence, the officer that resigned made a plea to have him Baker Acted.
As for the Sheriff in Maryland, if he goes around claiming to be a hero while failing to disclose similar type of info that is coming out everyday with the BSO, and if the Sheriff in Maryland tries to stonewall requests for info to the point where news agencies have to sue his department, all so he can remain in office, then can his ass in disgrace.
