My observation is when Miami was winning coaches and the school administration could just do their jobs. Now you have millions of people with access to what they are doing. Every little detail is scrutinized and a place like Miami that is not a good match.
Home is no longer an advantage the world has gotten smaller with the internet. The country has gotten smaller. You used to be able to sell how you can see your kids play. You can still sell this but not as easily. A lot of these single parent environments especially. You can see your kid play regardless of where he goes. Many of these inner city kids have parents who can't always get the time anyway and will just watch when they do get the change on cable or youtube. It's easier for opposing teams to sell this.
There are too many cooks in the kitchen. Too many people with an opinion veiled in being a loyal fan that cares more than you do about winning. When the truth is these people care more about their own feelings after a loss. Sorry, I am just being a truthsayer. Losing is part of the game. It is part of the process of building a championship team. It shows you what you have. Back in the day when you lost you were able to have brutal practices. The NCAA doesn't allow that any longer.
This perpetual changing of the guard at head coach is not a solution. It's just you feeling better after a loss. These decisions should be made at the end of the year. It's every swinging jock with time who has a Youtube channel that can make money off peoples emotions. Even the legitimate websites like this one have members that just want to blow off steam. That's fine but it isn't a good thing in terms of getting elite coaches and players to come here and play. This isn't going to be a place elite coaches and players will come to be booed or watch planes fly about firing their coach.
The only reason good players come here is either because it is home or it is Miami. The tradition Miami offers. We aren't going to get players to come here or coaches in the elite because we aren't able to get the support needed to build a champion. Every game that is lost is a new complete meltdown as opposed to just being disappointed in a loss. We have to take it all the way to the max. Pretend we are running the team because he have more information at our finger tips.
I am convinced it isn't about anything but if I picked that coach as a fan. If I didn't pick that coach and they aren't winning I want them gone immediately. If I did pick that coach it is someone elses fault we are losing. Few other programs suffer from this like a private school in the city like Miami. Maybe USC.
