First the idea is ingenious as it would eliminate another of the top 2-3 reasons people say Miami isn’t a good job/program (cheap, no on-campus stadium & empty stadium).
Although not on campus, it is close enough.
honestly, I have been to games at most of the SEC schools, many of the ACC schools and a bunch of other college campus games and it is not uncommon to have to park/tailgate over a mile away from the stadium.
However, I think many fans are very spoiled and shouldn’t expect to get a 2nd hard rock stadium in coral gables, ain’t happening. You won’t get all the amenities that you get at a first class facility which hard rock is. I have never been in an on campus stadium that comes close to Hard Rock or any of the other top pro facilities
second, it needs to be 40-50k, cause that is what you get for all the biggest games… put 1-2 big games a year in hard rock and play duke, GT, ETC in the on campus stadium and your normal crowds will fill the stadium.
There are several models in the 40-50k range that would be great. I live in Europe and their are literally dozens of venues all under 30-50k that are covered seating and very Loud.
Oregon’s autzen stadium is only 55k and is considered load. I actually like Troy states it is only 30k but it is compact and loud, actually one of the nicer small stadiums I have been to. I think they could get a 40-45k version of that or a much more modern version of GT’s stadium would also work….
