A great move would be to consult with the South Korean Govt on how they flat lined their corona virus curve.
In late February it appeared South Korea would be overwhelmed with rising numbers of its citizens stricken with the virus. Since early March SK has been able to cut the number of cases in half every 3-4 days. hundreds of thousands South Koreans have been tested. Meanwhile in America we see cases of the virus increasing. Hospitals running low on protective equipment. ERs overwhelmed with folks stricken with the virus. The health of our first responders compromised. The current administration failed to be proactive, failed with due diligence.
Some governors failed???!!! Thats what # 45 said. As usual he didnt back it up with any stats, figures, info.
There is merit in your post. However comparing a 350 MILLION population to a 50 million population isnt exact science.
We should have 7x infected, magnified by simple math.We will have more than 7 times it’s spread.

This past Monday #45 made clear he is itching to lift Corona virus restrictions that has frozen our economy.
He wants to get things going by Easter.
I understand his eagerness to get things going. The rising number of our people unemployed and a dormant economy is frightening to say the least.
What needs to be done by the white house is to look for a way or ways to get back on track without risking a greater spread of the virus.
South Korea has flattened their virus curve & hasnt shut down their economy. They have not had to resort to ancient style, draconian lockdowns.
Two things # 45 refuses to do:
1) organize & implement massive testing for the virus
2) Ensure the health system gets everything it needs
South Korea is a leg up on the rest of the world because of their struggle with the 2015 outbreak of MERS.

South Korea has administered well over 300,000 tests. AS for those in their healthcare field giving the tests, the govt assured them they had the equipment they needed. The Korean govt intervened to prevent profiteering on medical equipment & supplies.
According to Suchan Chae, a former member of the National Assembly of Korea and a economist at the Korean Institute of Science & Technology, said Hospitals & medical providers have no problems with getting sufficient supplies of masks & PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment).
# 45, on the other hand gave huge tax breaks to the 1% and in 2018 he disbanded the US Pandemic Response team.

We are creating more tests, ventilators etc, exponentially.Since you mentioned congress, Obama voted down budget allocation for viral & infectiousl disease. This admin inherited an antiquated, poorly stocked system, and supply.

Shutting down the US Pandemic Response Team & defunding the CDC is not being proactive. Calling the virus a hoax also isnt being proactive. If 45 is proactive, why are so many medical staff members at our hospitals required to use the same masks for a week, on the short end???!!!! There are huge shortages of ventilators as well as PPE. # 45 has said GM is required to produce ventilators. Have they done it before? GM has to have folks who are employed by companies that make ventilators to have a hands on approach, to be sure guidelines are met & followed. GM employees will have to be trained to know how a ventilator works so they are able to run tests to see newly made ones work properly. Meanwhile the number of Americans stricken by COVID-19 keep rising.

801, I hope your son stays safe & remains in good health. Yes, there is a stay @ home orders. Yesterday there were 23 more confirmed cases of Corona. All Food service establishments that are open are limited to take out services. A handful of them have closed their establishments indefinitely. Effective 04/01, Wednesday The city bus system will go to a holiday schedule due to decreasing riderships. Some supermarkets are limiting the number of customers to enforce social distancing. A number of them are allowing shoppers with special needs to shop the 1st 1 1/2 hours of operation.
Hospitals have set up triage tents outside their ERs. The clinic I go to, Straub Clinic & Hospital has started their own respiatory clinic to free up their primary care physicians to concentrate on other medical needs for their patients. To gain access to the clinic you must be referred by your PCP @ Straub. You are required to apply hand sanitizer & wear a mask. After meeting with the clinic's receptionists you have to give them your cell # so a representative can communicate with you. The receptionist then instructs you to have seat with a assigned number. A couple minutes later the rep will ask the following questions:
Are you experiencing Gastro -intestinal problems
Do you have a headache, body aches
do you have fever
coughing
running nose
congestion
Fortunately I didnt meet the criteria to be tested for covid-19. Im yhinking every hospital has a limited supply of test kits. Must be expensive.

Trump has consistently followed Dr Fauci, and the rest of the viral specialists. Fauci has explicitly stated that numerous times last 5 days.

ON March 20, #45 called the state dept "The Deep State" and according to the NY times Dr Fauci dropped his head and rubbed his forehead. Since then Dr Fauci has faced a torrent of false claims that he is mobilizing to undermine the president. Dr Fauci is now a target of the far right. Some of #45's staff think Dr Fauci is trying to slight the president, leading to vitriolic on line reactions.
Dr Fauci has won a public following for his willingness to contradict #45 and correct falsehoods and overly rosy pronouncements about containing the virus.
