Previous PPV mark as per four letter network.

Excerpt below:

Showtime, which broadcast the fight on pay-per-view, announced Thursday, along with promoters Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather Promotions, that Mayweather's dominant decision victory shattered the all-time record for highest-grossing pay-per-view fight of all time, generating $150 million in revenue from 2.2 million pay-per-view buys.

So much for boxing being a dying sport and MMA taking over. No UFC ppv has even come close.

Thoughts ??

I shelled out the $$$ and it was worth it. Floyd is an A hole, but a great fighter. Smartest fighter ever.

great numbers sure but that's because Floyd is the only fighter left worth seeing. USA Boxing will be non existent after Floyd.

I bought it mainly for the garcia fight...

Mayweather fight went pretty much like i thought it would..

Only idiots say boxing is dying...The only reason they say that is because there isn't an american heavyweight bad ass out there laying fools out... That's all boxing is missing

I won 3rd place on a twitter contest they were having to promote the fight, I'm getting a showtime hat signed by floyd mayweather, how freakin cool is that? Im siked about it so I thought I'd share.

lmao, not a mayweather fan I take it.

If you factor in inflation it grossed less than the previous record. It also had substantially fewer ppv buys.

Boxing is a dying sport because the age of the average boxing fan has been increasing for twenty years.

I used to be a big boxing fan, but I have no interest in the sport anymore. I thought the fight sucked. Neither guy looked like he had been in a fight when it was over. I think that fight did more to hurt boxing than it did to help it because it was such a boring fight. Most fans watch to see a fight, not a so-called display of skill in a slap fight between two guys who are afraid to get knocked out.
