Multiple centrist on both sides, ya'll just cherry pick the ones you like. Manchin is more like Biden, Kasich and Romney than he is Bernie, AOC, Cruz or Trump.

When it counts Manchin will support legislation that helps his state. I've followed him closely over the years. One thing that stands out to me is his love for his home state. WV is one of the poorest states in the country. Things like Obamacare, $15 minimum wage, more funding for education and green jobs if they improve his state will get his support.

I think the squad is going to get minimized after this past election. Their titles alone scare people. Democratic socialist? Defund police all got used against them. They will not take over the party for a while as all super progressives or “squad” are in areas where it’s like 200 dems to every republican. I’m exaggerating of course but anywhere a dem held a seat that had a closer mix for dem/gop they basically lost the seat or it was super close race. munchin won’t vote for super progressive stuff but I do think he would vote for higher minimum wage which isn’t really that progressive IMO. But the other crap he would shoot down and vote against in a heartbeat.

I am a Conservative and I understand why some think the 15 bucks an hour increase will help struggling people. It actually might help Republicans as these people will now likely pay taxes. But in the long run it will just increase prices and inflation will wipe out any potential improvement in their lives.It will also close numerous small businesses ,particularly in lower income areas .
I don’t think it needs to go to 15 personally but 7.50 or whatever it is too low. $10? 20k/year minimum wage is not too high IMO. I do agree 15 could do more harm than good but something needs to be done.

Actually we get our veggies from a local family owned farm. But I get your point. But ultimately in any capitalist society the market drives the wage. Want to make more? Find a job that is in demand and not many people can do.
Raise the wage arbitrarily and less people will be employed in that job and those that are employed will get less hours.
Then raise taxes on the business owner and watch how they shut down and go online or remake their model to remove the employee all together. Then all of a sudden that $8 an hour sure beats $0 an hour.
Stop listening to right wing media. You can watch a show like Morning Joe which is hosted by a Republican, a moderate Dem (she aint to bad on the eye for an old chick) and has frequent former RNC including a former RNC as chair and you'll see some variety.
if you think a show like that is "left" then perhaps it should give you perspective of what you consider left.
