Possible Ambassador to China

I cannot even believe that Buttigieg might be the Ambassador to China.
Another horrendous pick . What is his prior experience with the Chinese Communists ? He was the Mayor of South Bend! Obviously Sleepy Joe owed him a favor. Is he going to be tough enough to express the human rights abuses to the Communists? Will he protest the Chinese concentration camps occupied by the Chinese Muslims who are being exterminated through sterilization? Is he the guy that can forcefully protest Chinese Communist imperialism in Asia and other parts of the world?
He doesn't have the experience. Look at a former Ambassadors experience... WW2 pilot,former head of the CIA, formerV.P. , former President of the United States, George Bush! He was Ambassador to China prior to his White House rolls however he had experience. Booty has none.
I would have rather seen Ms.Gumbo , the next U.N. Ambassador, who has foreign policy experience, be the Ambassador to our greatest enemy on this planet.
This country is in for world of s--t.

Branstad has been friends with Chinese President Xi Jinping since the 1980s, though his role as ambassador became increasingly fraught in recent months as the US-China relationship frayed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Branstad was ultimately never able to leverage the personal relationship to benefit the bilateral relations.

Buttigieg will be fine.

These are the same people who think a real estate guy from NY who couldn't get a security clearance was apparently appropriate to tackle Middle East peace. SMH.

They succeed in nothing given that Trump is leaving and the policy will be reversed once Biden is in office.

Why should there be warm relations. The China Virus was made in a military lab and they let it out. Buttigieg will bend over for the Chinese. We don't want that.

Literally every Trump foreign policy decision across the board.

On Israel, we will likely see a return to the US supporting a two state solution, which also means the Embassy may get moved back to Tel Aviv.

On Iran, we will probably see a return to the JCPOA (aka the Iran Deal) or some variation of it.

On Russia, there will be sanctions and other unpublicized retaliatory measures for their interference in our 2016 elections, including tighter sanctions on oligarchs and possibly Putin himself.

On China, we will probably see a return to negotiating a TPP type trade agreement.

On NATO, we will definitely see a push to reaffirm our commitment and strengthen the alliance as a means to counter Russian aggression.

On North Korea, we will see a return to putting pressure on Kim. No more photo ops featuring US Presidents saluting North Korean generals.

We will also renter the World Health Organization and Paris climate deal.

Basically, everything Trump screwed up, broke, or pulled out of, will have to be undone.

No surprise for hate of Trump. I think the only item on your list that Sleepy Joe will try to reverse will be the Paris Climate deal. The rest would be a pipe dream for Trump haters.

Trump literally campaigned on banning all Muslims from entry to the country. A literal religious test...as if the Constitution didn't exist. Youre gonna need stronger ground to stand on.

Big difference between not allowing individuals from known terrorist countries (not all Muslims) to travel into the USA vs. enslaving Muslims for practicing their religion in China

Man sometimes you are really dumb. Sometimes I read your post and think this guys smart and then you pull out these kind of post and reveal some dead brain cells. The Muslim Ban was not about people’s religion it was specifically about trying to keep terrorist from entering our country through countries that have been well known to harbor these terrorist that tend to be radicalized Muslims. I believe History will show the truthful context good & bad and he will go down as one of the most successful presidents in history. Ex: Operation Warp Speed. 4 Peace Deals so far in Middle East & 1 in Serbia. The WALL. Space Force. His legacy will last 5 generations and beyond. Ok I’m done ranting.
