University of Miami redshirt freshman Greg Rousseau was named Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week after a dominant performance in a win at Florida State, the conference office announced Monday.

Rousseau, who leads the ACC in sacks this season, had five tackles for loss and four sacks in an overpowering performance against the rival Seminoles.

The south Florida native set a career mark with eight total tackles (seven solo) and now has seven sacks combined in his last two games alone. Rousseau’s 12 sacks this season are tied for the fourth-most in a single season in Miami history and represent the second-highest total in FBS.

Rousseau was a critical member of a defensive unit that terrorized the Seminoles in a 27-10 win – Miami’s third straight over its in-state rival. The Hurricanes totaled 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks and two interceptions in the victory.
