1. Talent infusion: Nesta, Bubba, Lingard, Pope are serious talents that can have an impact in areas we need it. Lingard is another home run threat for an offense that needs big plays....Nesta is an up the field DT where we have been good but can get more pressure the middle (which will also help pass coverage) and Bubba is a long safety with range and will be a big upgrade to Knowles...who continues to struggle mightily in pass coverage....Pope has flashed with very limited snap counts..time to increase those and see what happens.
2. Scheme adjustment on offense: We need to spread it out a bit more, mix in some hurry up (does not mean all passing) and take more deep shots. It is quite clear
3. Manny has to forget last year: He set up this team to stay in the game instead of win it. Was so frustrated with field position, turnovers, time of possession issues from last year that the offense is playing safe and not maximizing our potential to win. We have gone to the other extreme from last year but it is holding back the offense.
We do these three things (and do not lose a bunch of key guys to injury per point 1) and we can go 10-2. We fail to do those and we can go 7-5.
