I understand what Matt is saying but I can't say I agree this is a "Problem".

I think this simple fact of the matter is you have to be able to incorporate the portal as part of your recruiting class. You have to reach the point that the portal is nothing but recruiting with some caveats. I think the main difference is there will be far less room to miss on a portal transfer. I think one of the things being missed here is when we recruit these kids and they go elsewhere a lot of times you have a relationship with them still even when they go elsewhere. So, if they end up in the portal it is less of a risk....depending on why they are there.

I don't think you can just look at the portal as the classic transfer kid. These are just recruits you can't miss on...so in this sense its not really a problem. UNLESS YOU MISS.....and really that is no different than any recruit to be honest. It is going to cause issues if you miss on enough recruits.

The NIL stuff is the part of the equation to stay ahead of. I would prefer Miami's strategy from a business standpoint. I think it is better to spread the money around. This is a team and there will be less jealousy that way. Everyone should get a piece imo although not necessarily an equal share but if guys want to just buy big time players I don't think that is going to work in the locker room. You have 10 guys getting big money and everyone else who is responsible for their success on the field getting nothing? that's gas waiting on a match. I just don't see that working out.

If the QB we are chasing is just looking for the highest bidder I say let him move on and take the other kid who is under rated. Because his mind isn't where it needs to be.
