we all want Miami to win and and win national championships. We are comparing CMR to Saban, Urban, Dabo and Jimbo Fisher. Here is the problem with that, all those coaches have won a or multiple national championships. They are championship winning HCs and are on a different tier than any other coach or coaches. They do things to win national championships. Whether is money/bags, recruiting, staff hiring and firings... they are all in on winning national championships. It’s something Kirby is doing at GA that is why we see a difference with him at GA than when Coach Richt was there.

I think if we better understand who CMR is and who he compares to we will have a better way of judging him and better expectations. I think it is fair to compare CMR to some of his peers that have coaches for a long time, won a lot of games , have been competitive in their conferences and won a conference championship every now and again. They recruit ok to pretty good too. They go into programs or have taken over programs and have improved them tremendously. So with that said we should compare CMR to guys like Gary Patterson, Chris Petersen, Bill Snyder ,Mark Dantonio ,Pat Fitzgerald , Kyle Whittingham and Mike Gundy. These are guys that produce competitive teams, compete in conference , will lose some winnable games or games they are favored in and challenge for the conference championship every now and again. I believe this is a fair comparison and expectation for CMR. If we allow ourselves to accept this we will all be better off for it as fans.

Enjoy today’s game my cane brethren
