OP, I might have agreed with a good amount of what you wrote a month ago. But now, not so much. Others on this board have called you a Gator Troll. I will disagree, rather I believe that you are a Manny Sr. shill.

Manny Jr. had a reasonable story to tell until the Highsmith debacle. The only way I can see it, is that Manny Jr. and Blake James did not want Highsmith in the house because he had too much credibility and respect. He was an on the field UM legend, big time NFL player, proven NFL executive, with personal ties and loyalty to the UM program. I do not know if it was Manny Jr. or Blake's or both's concern that Alonzo was going to shine light on the facts about the UM football program that had them block his obviously logical addition to the football program. Alonzo knows what a NC level program looks like (PLAYED under Howard and Jimmy). Blake and Manny do not.

Alonzo was ready to help his alma mater and by correlation, Manny and Blake. Both of them shot down the idea. They both were more interested in their own personal power and ego. Please understand understand who Manny Jr.s dad is. He is the former mayor of a third world country known as the City of Miami. He presided over the Orange Bowl being torn down. The tax payers were told doing this would make the Marlins once again a contender. We have all seen how that has worked out. The politically connected made million$ and the Marlins still suck.

Manny JR. is the son of a politician. As a politician, true success does not matter. It is all about spin. Blake is a brown noser to the BOT. Need I say more? They are a match made in heaven. Manny want's power and Blake want' s more wealthy butts to sniff.

So along comes Alonzo with the knowledge, connections and motivation to make UM great in Football again. Blake is a lost cause. But I would have hoped that Manny Jr. as a HC at UM would have wanted UM to be great again. For both for the program and therefore for himself. There is nothing wrong with self interest. But, Manny Jr. he has chosen his political roots (Manny Sr.) over his commitment to his job mission - of which he is paid very well to do - to bring a Natty to UM.

The Barry Jackson article in the Herald should be fully read and understood. The article basically states that a number of UM players "pooped on their teammates" to smoke weed and party before games. This is horrible and each of those players should be given the URL for the transfer portal.

However, Manny Jr, and Blake James are no better than those players! They have put their own personal ego's over the program that pays them. In the same way as the wayward players, Manny Jr/Sr. and Blake have "pooped on the UM program, its current and past players and all of its alumni and boosters.

I have previously read posts on this board saying that the best thing for UM is to have a complete implosion in order to push a change. Maybe Mario - maybe not. I had previously disagreed. But Manny Jr's failure to want a highly and uniquely qualified individual (Alonzo) tells me that he clearly puts his own ego far above the mission statement that he is being paid for. That alone tells me it is time for him to either get another DC job or fulfill his Daddy's true desire and run for City of Miami mayor. He is not truly committed to the success of the UM football program.

As sad as it sounds, IMO, a complete implosion and the immediate dispatch of Manny Jr. and Blake is the only chance this program has for success. Each day that goes by without this happening brings a month of additional hurdles in keeping the UM football program relevant and making this goal (return to NC's) happen.
