Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg

I guess the essence of my question still stands. Is this something that's long overdue only if the dems do it?

It would be appropriate either way because the issue is SCOTUS judges who are in their positions for life. Adding justices would allow them to cycle in and out more frequently which would be good for everyone.

You need Congress to pack the court and the Republicans won't be winning the house back anytime soon. The Dems on the other hand have a pretty good chance of winning the White House and reclaiming the Senate 6 weeks from now, which would give them control of the executive and legislative, which is all that's needed to increase the number of Supreme Court justices. This is long over due and needs to happen asap. Same with statehood for DC and Puerto Rico.
Ok you’re insane if you think biden is going to win and you’re chance of keeping the house lead and picking up the senate are possible but slim. How many times in the last twenty five years has the left lead the house and senate at the same time? It’s definitely possible but unlikely.

Both parties have had both the Presidency and Congress at different times over the past 12 years, so a Biden win will probably mean it will happen again since there are about 5 vulnerable Republican Senators who could lose with a high Dem turnout (the Dems only need to pick up 3 or 4).

But i strongly doubt biden wins. I have an even harder time believing that the left continues to hold the house while picking up the senate.

give me one reason why the republicans should not play by the same rules as the democrats and try and not get in a supreme court justice when we can. The only reason why the dems didn’t when they “supposedly” had the chance was because the right had the senate. Hypothetically, why shouldn’t we try and stack the court if we keep the senate when trump wins again? Clearly you guys would.

the precedent starting with the impeachment trial was truly unprecedented. We know what we’re up against. It’s war and it started with you guys. The right has been playing nice for way too long. The days of saying you should play fair are over. You guys ****ed that up a long time ago. You dug your hole now sleep in it and except the consequences and hold your constituents responsible the way we did with bush sr’s tenure. It cost us an election but now we have the upper hand with the people we want as oppose to swamp dwelling republicans that could give two shits about out our tax’s, foreign policies, regulations, etc.

We’re about to have the best republican party we’ve ever had after enduring a republican party that was only in it for their selves at their party/the countries expense. If you’re on the right, you couldn’t be more excited right now. If you’re on the left, you just trump. We saw that with obama vs romney that just hating your counterpart, that it’s just not enough. Very few republicans believed in romney or mcain. They were just the lesser of two evils which is how anyone that’s not a die hard liberal feels about your entire party right now. It’s not enough to get you’re constituents to the polls.

There's clearly a difference between what you strongly believe and reality. Biden is up in every credible poll, even more than Hillary was in 2016 and the Dems just wrecked the GOP during the last midterms which were a referendum on Trump's job performance. So why would that change, especially now with COVID and the economy tanking? The Dems are up in the generic ballot right now with the same numbers as they were two years ago, which resulted in one of the biggest pickups of Dem seats in modern history.

Republicans have been cheating for years through gerrymandering, voter suppression tactics (voter ID, not allowing felons who did their time, to vote etc.), and now voter intimidation at various polling sites, so the question that needs to be asked is why the Dems have waited for so long to play by the same dirty rules.

The Republican party died when it sold itself to a corrupt, lawless demagogue who is interested only in his own self-aggrandizement, a quest for personal power, who hates his own supporters and certainly doesn't have the capacity to care for anyone in the general public. Once you lose your courage, integrity, and moral compass - you really don''t have a party any more, all you are left with is the paranoid world of white identity politics at a time when the rest of the country is rejecting all of these things. So once Trump leaves the scene, none of the current Republicans who have spent the past four years licking Trump's boots, will have the credibility to lead following the trail of destruction he leaves behind.

That's not how the majority of people in the civilized world see it. Abortions will take place whether they are legal or not, so it would be pointless to make women go through the old coat hanger method when they have access to modern medical facilities.

Also, Conservatives who feign moral outrage about "the unborn baby" don't have any moral leverage to do so given that they are usually the same ones who are against providing economic opportunities and basic health services to women, not to mention moaning about how kids in poor families don't have a decent set of parents to raise them - because they themselves want to force (primarily) poor women to have kids without the resources to raise them.
And I should be forced to pay for those too huh. Can you call Nancy and tell her to move forward with impeachment so we can take back house, senate and presidency please?

Your party wants the country to think Trump is losing but he is not. You will see, go ahead and start digging that hole in the back of your apartment.

RGB had more sense that your retard libs on this site. Oh and let your party pull a Kavanaugh hearing with the female Trump puts forward and watch your world crumble worse that it already is.

Then Reps take over and increase the justices to 17? Then Demo's to 21. Then the USA becomes Venezuela. AOC is named President for Life.
Bruh, you have a Senate committed to voting for a Judicial candidate that isn’t even identified yet. We are Venezuela.

C'mon Man, the Senate agreed on "holding a vote", not blindly voting for any candidate. Even Rino Romney said that...

The Shenanigans of Pelosi and Schiff have made the House obtainable by the Republicans in Nov . This could be one of the biggest Shellackings the Dems have gotten since Reagan.
The fact that Pelosi has rolled left because of pressure from the “squad”, the fact that Schiff and Eric Swalwell were caught lying about Trump and Jerry Nadler saying that the looting and burning were a myth should doom any chance the Dems have of retaining the House .

Agree with your logic. But any American that gets their news from CNN, NBC, ABC, Washington Post, NY Times etc. is not aware of the facts you illuminated.

Everyone Knows who the two candidates are, conversely the democrats are committed to voting against the candidates, and they haven’t been identified yet. I’ll give you credit, you always have the talking points down.

The Reps will never regain power if the Dems increase to 13 because the Dem picks will reverse Citizens United ruling, which will make it next to impossible for Corporations and Pacs to buy their way into funding campaigns.
How about unions?
