Ruth Ginsburg Dies at 87....Let's see if Trump tries to ram this through

It's not really 4-4 we have all seen Justice Roberts vote both ways as a swing vote much to the chagrin of conservatives.

But the mathematical possibility of 4-4 exists. And Roberts has been compromised in some way. The name John Roberts appears on a travel manifest to Epstein island. And the Fox reporter John Roberts has provided evidence showing his being on US soil and far away on the dates in question. Not saying Roberts (SCOTUS) went there but the democrats appear to have something on him.

This wouldn’t be payback given that they just did something similar with blocking the Dem nominee 4 years ago. Payback would be the Dems winning the White House and Senate, then adding four new SCOTUS judges to the rolls, moving the total from 9 to 13 - and all four will be Dem nominated judges. That would eliminate any advantage Republicans have for an entire lifetime.

Trump wins again and you cant stand it...

Keep wishing for what you want and it will back fire on you.

The GOP just might beat you at your game by keeping the senate...

The GOP have a better chance at keeping the Senate than Trump has of winning a 2nd term. Maybe its time to call the cavalry in Moscow to help him out again.

I can't see there being any reason to nominate someone until there's a new President. If McConnell tries, it will backfire since he doesn't have the votes and it would only hurt vulnerable Republicans in November.

Wishful thinking .. All they have to do is wait till after election and still get it done even if Trump loses...
Its his show until Jan.20th.

all he needs is 50 with pence as the tie breaker.. no flakey and the 3 rhinos can vote no and still pass. deal with it.

Except that more than 3 have already said they are against it. Also, the Arizona Senate winner will be sworn in on November 30th, so if. Mark Kelly wins (he's leading in every poll by a lot) then that's one less.

Its likely just a matter of when, not if, #45 nominates a replacement for the late RBG. He held a ceremony at the white house just last week to unveil a short list of future nominees , and just yesterday the country was processing the news of the death of RBG, an apparent oblivious #45 was at a rally in Bemidji, Minnesota, talking about nominating Sen. Ted Cruz to the bench. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, who had previously gone around the country telling donors that Ginsburg's death would be his party's "October Surprise", pledged Friday that #45's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the US Senate."
Its a far cry from 4 years ago. When this same situation unfolded in 2016, after Justice Antone Scalia died in February of that year, many Senate Republicans , most of whom are still in the chamber---drew what purported to be a principle line in the sand, insisting that it was too close to the Presidential election for then POTUS Barack Obama to choose a replacement. It should bu up to the voters to decide in November, they argued. Some of them even invoked the words of then VP Joe Biden , who as a Senator several decades earlier had offered similar logic. They called it "The Biden Rule." (Biden, in 1992, was not responding to any actual vacancy, but merely a hypothetical one). When then POTUS Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland anyway, no one led the charge as stubbornly as McConnell; He shamelessly flip flopped about the appropriateness of filling a SCOTUS seat in a presidential election year. A few weeks after Scalia's passing McConnell, in the Senate chamber said "The decision the Senate announced weeks ago, remains about a principle, and not a person. The Senate will appropriately revisit the matter when it considers the qualifications of the nominee, the next president nominates, whoever that might be."
Here we are, 5-6 weeks away from a Presidential election and the repubs are pushing and rushing to satisfy #45s giant ego. They are tired and exhausted burning the midnight oil

Couple things different this time. Obama final term Trump probably gets 4 more years. Obama had Republican Senate and so does Trump. Same party. If you truly believe the Democrats wouldn't do the same, you're nuts. The name of the nominee would be out already.

It’s all about the party in power - meaning the Presidency and the Senate . When Obama tried futility to push Garland through he couldn’t because Republicans controlled the Senate - now because Trump is POTUS and the Republicans still control the Senate do it - push it through . The Dems would do it if they had the power .
Thank goodness they don’t

I can understand the rush to nominate. Repubs are in a hurry because they are fearful of the Democrats winning the senate and maintain the lead in Congress. They, the republicans dont want to wait for the inevitable

Either way you lose... !!!! MAGA...

You liberals do realize it's your own fault you're in this position right? Harry Reid and Schumer changed the vote for Judges to simple majority from the customary 60 votes needed. They did that to benefit Obama in appointing Federal Judges. Too bad, so sad,

Hilarious, it’s RBG Dying wish. If she was so concerned who picked her replacement, why didn’t she retire when Obama was President ?

So true! Ruthie wanted another couple bites or the "pay me to push your agenda" MONEY. Classic Liberal want to be paid protection money by those that they govern. So far worse than La Cosa Nostra. The real Kennedy's (Jack and Rvbert) would role over in their graves over the fraud being committed by the Demo party. They had the balls to take on the Mob and would have had the balls to take on the modern day Deep State Mob.

Principle? You liberals know nothing about principles.
The greatest example of lack of principle is the deliberate slow down of the US mail. Many Americans are anxious, apprehensive on the lack of timely delivery of the meds. How about those who are unemployed due to their places of employment closed due to the current pandemic and waiting for checks from their financial institutions????!!!!

Trump has the constitution and precedent on his side, there is no reason for him not to move forward.

Actually my personal and local opinion in my own little part of the world is that the mail delivery (especially of incoming checks) has never been better than the past year. Funny how the mail is only slow to democrat operatives?

Harry Reid got greedy now he ‘s paying the price...
You have no one to blame but your greedy ass party..!!!
Yes, its #45s constitutional right to select a nominee for SCOTUS. However hypocrisy never escapes from the realms of the GOP. Conservative justice Antone Scalia passed away in early 2016. In late February of 2016 POTUS Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland as his nominee. No action from the GOP to hold a hearing. McConnell at the time said "its Mr Obama's right to select a nominee." Fast forward to September 2020, and with only 6 weeks before the election, Repubs are trying to ram this thru. It is their sincere wish, and hope, that by doing this for #45, it will allow the GOP to catch their breath, stay away from burning the midnight oil and allow the repubs to come and go as they please; quid pro quo. #45 hopes that by selecting his own people to the highest judicial position they will enable him to enrich himself. Quid pro quo.

Any of the Woke liberals every do any research on Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood? Most of todays contentious issues (both domestic and International) have their roots in the Woodrow Wilson WW1 era. That was when the progressive movement was founded. What a nice name "Progressive". Who could argue against progress? Unfortunately most HS's and College no longer teach American history prior to Nixon impeachment.
Seriously look up Margaret Sanger and Eugenics. You will find significant parallels to Hitler's Third Reich.
