Saw interview with Joe Manchin yesterday very reasonable Senator

Very sound and reasonable guy. A few talking points from the interview with Brett Baier;
Said Infrastructure Bill was passed months ago and we don't hold up voting on one bill to get another bill in Congress. Clearly was pissed about that
Said he is HIGHLY concerned with 29 TRILLION in debt and doesn't see any rush to spend foolishly right now
Said that the old way of sitting down together and discussing a way to correct a problem for America is practically dead that it's all about special interests and the next election
When Brett used Family paid leave as an example, Manchin said he and many are in favor of a form of paid leave after baby birth or to care for a sick parent or child but it should be it's own legislation. Not a part of some huge reconciliation bill
When shown that one of the squad members called him anti black, anti woman, anti immigrant Manchin simply said "this lady doesn't know me, never met me, let her go down to West VA and ask people about me."
When energy came up he said WV is "sitting on an ocean of natural gas" but can't bring it to market because they won't allow WV to build a pipeline and that America has all the energy we need doesn't see any reason to be begging OPEC or buying from Russia.

Hope you're right, I know he is saying all the right things, but in my instincts. I don't trust him. Seems like the kind of guy that tells you how he is doing you a favor when he screws you over in a business deal.

Manchin is a fraud. Repugs like him because he sides with them so often. He has holdings valued between $1 and $5 million in Enersystems, the coal brokerage business he founded. Last year he made more than $491,000 from his holdings. He has consistently opposed Biden's climate plan, Clean Energy Performance Program, which aimed to reward utilities for switching to clean energy sources and penalizing those relying on coal and gas. He has also been pushing back on other prov isions, including a methane fee that would be levied on oil and gas companies who let methane leaks escape into the atmosphere.

Republicans have been calling Democrats "socialists" for 90 yrs. No matter what policies a Democratic president supports it will be labeled "socialist". What percentage of your Party supports a live long serial lying con man? Don't preach to me about honesty and pride! And Manchin should switch parties as he sides with the Repugs more often than not! He comes from a solid Red State and votes the way he does to keep getting re-elected.
